Personal testimonies … “what Easter means to me…”

“In ages past, Lent was a time of involuntary abstinence and fasting which was enforced by Nature. Without refrigeration or other means to preserve food, things like eggs, meat, milk, butter, and all fresh fruits and vegetables we no longer available. Today, as all Humans on the Planet face the Coronavirus (COVID-19), there are shortages everywhere. Many are feeling enforced abstinence. “Today I thank God for what I do have and I Praise God who made the Heavens and the Earth.” -L

“One of the things I like about this website is how it focuses me on the Seasons – the Wheel of the Christian year.”

“We have just entered Lent and this year I’m trying to think in “a time parallel” between NOW and the life of Christ. For e.g. as Lent begins, I think of 30-year-old Jeshua getting baptized then he retreated from all distractions. He went to the desert and prayed ceaselessly to God for 40 days- and he fasted. I like to believe that it was during this time of prayer, fasting, and isolation in the wilderness that Jesus “got his Mission” from God.” – L

“It’s early January 2020; Christmas is over. Even the Epiphany has passed. What Next?
“There is a song by Howard Thurman, Now the Work of Christmas Begins. It says “after the star is gone”, after the shepherds and Wise Men take their leave, the work of Christmas begins. The Work of Christmas- Jesus’ Work- has started Now. And He always invites us to walk with Him, to be His Hands and Feet.”

“As we approach Easter, I am astounded as to what it means for Jesus to be raised from the Dead. The Resurrection of Jesus is a GAME CHANGER. It represents an Evolutionary Shift in which we, as the Children of God, were/are given proof that Death is not the end- that there is something beyond this Life. And, through Jesus, we were/are given the Promise that this can be absolutely marvelous.”

“I have had a number of health problems starting Thanksgiving last year. I fell at a service station and hit my head. Two weeks later I was taken to the hospital and had a bleeder. and emergency surgery. In January of this year I had a stroke that was related to the earlier health problems.
Easter means I have a sure knowledge of a future with Jesus.”

“My Journey started today “Ash Wednesday”, what a Great Service it was leading us with Psalms 139, v, 23 & 24. My Lent focus will be Prayer for my brothers and sisters with many needs. Hope you will join me.“

“Without the Easter holiday celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ, we Christ followers would have no hope of the forgiveness of sin. However, through personal faith in Jesus, we are assured we will spend eternity with Jesus in heaven.”

“Lent is a time of incredible opportunity for Spiritual Development. And it’s all about Jesus! This year as I journey to Easter, I hope to walk more closely with Jesus as he makes His way to the Cross and then Gloriously Beyond as he defeats Death for us all on Easter Sunday. I’ll begin my journey by committing to reading stories of his ministry and studying the Bible anew to learn about his teachings at a deeper level.”
✝
“Easter is my assurance of the things to come for which I hope. He is risen, He is risen indeed and that gives me assurance that through my faith and God’s grace, I too will be raised….just like His Son Jesus was raised. And, an undeserved bonus, I get to spend eternity with those that I love. Easter is my hope for marvelous things to come and the evidence of His blessings today.”
