Angels in the Woods

Angels in the Woods is a wing of the Big Canoe Women’s Guild Legacy of Caring.  The Angels in the Woods program is a way to honor, remember, or celebrate someone special with an honorarium. All donations to this program go to charities in Pickens and Dawson Counties that are supported by the Women’s Guild’s Legacy of Caring.

Started by Anne Youmans in 2008 as a way for Big Canoe residents to make a donation to the former Tour of Homes without directly participating in the tour events, Angels in the Woods has expanded its scope and purpose.  This program is now a year-round way to remember a special person in your life.  Think of Veterans Day, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day.

A donation to Angels in the Woods is a way to –

  • Remember a friend or relative who has passed away
  • Congratulate a person on a special occasion, like a birthday or an anniversary or retirement
  • Thank someone for their extraordinary help
  • Celebrate the birth of a child or grandchild

Each contribution is followed by a thank-you note to the donor and an acknowledgement to the family or person remembered.
