Under the direction of Reverend Lamar Helms, the Chapel is planning a spring pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Jordan and Israel. The trip will be from April 25 through May 8, 2018. Pilgrams will be traveling to the holy sights where the children of Israel made their way to the Promised Land; they will follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ through Galilee to Jerusalem; from birth place to the place of the Cross.
Travel the King’s Highway through Jordan to Petra, one of the new Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Look out over the Promised Land as Moses did from the top of Mt. Nebo. Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans.
Enter the 2,000 year old remains of Capernaum and stand in what is left of the synagogue in which our Lord ministered. Enjoy sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. Stand on the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the “Golden City” of Jerusalem.
Also visit Yad Vashem, which is the site of the Jewish Holocaust Museum, and the Museum of the Book, which houses the ancient Hebrew scrolls from the caves at Qumran, and visit the synagogue at Hadassah Hospital where the famous Chagall windows are displayed.
