Pilgrimage to the Oberammergau Passion Play. Since 1634, it the most famous Passion Play in the world and has been performed in Germany almost without interruption for over 380 years. This play about the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ is performed every 10 years, with its 42nd production occurring in 2020. Our September 6-20 pilgrimage will center around the Oberammergau Passion Play but will also explore the Judeo-Christian influence on the art and culture of several major European cities, including Florence, Ravenna, Venice, Regensburg, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, and Berlin – cities whose histories have been greatly shaped by the Jewish and Christian faiths.
You are invited to join us! Descriptive informational brochures are available at the Chapel TouchPoint Information Center located to the right of the Chapel office door, or from Reverend Lamar Helms (404-310-5203). Lamar will hold an informational meeting about the pilgrimage in mid-August.
Reverend Lamar Helms led a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Jordan and Israel. From from April 25 through May 8, 2018 they traveled to the holy sights where the children of Israel made their way to the Promised Land and they followed the footsteps of Jesus Christ through Galilee to Jerusalem; from birth place to the place of the Cross.
