| Big Canoe Chapel panels to serve as the centerpiece for the Global PaintFest |
The spirit of Christmas will come alive in the hands of hundreds of volunteers around the world in a common effort to encourage people to light their world with hope and love between now and December 24.
The centerpiece for the global PaintFest will be featured during the Advent season at Big Canoe Chapel. Nine windows in the Chapel will be covered by canvases featuring a design by artist John Feight and painted by the Big Canoe Community. Volunteers from the community have been working on the "windows," with the same theme painted around the world at other locations.
PaintFests will be conducted throughout the mountains of Big Canoe at the following times.
- October 2 - Wildcat Pavilion from 10 a.m. until noon
- October 23 - The Clubhouse Veranda from 10 a.m. until noon
- November 13 - Fire Station from 10 a.m. until noon
- November 28 - Big Canoe Chapel Broyles Community Center from 3 to 6 p.m.
Note: Sign ups are required for November 28 since the event is limited to 50 volunteers. Reserve your place on November 28 by emailing John Feight at
