“Jesus and the Gospels” led by Rev. Lamar Helms, is a second generation Disciple Bible Study which focuses on Jesus in the four Gospels, and how and why the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John sometime treat the stories of Jesus differently. This winter and spring, the focus will be on the ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection of our Lord, and how each Gospel writer identifies with his audience to share the Gospel most effectively. This study began January 24, and meets weekly at 4:15 PM. Sign up by Jan. 21 in the chapel office or with Lamar Helms so that study materials can be prepared.
“Exploring the Ten Commandments” will be led by Dr. Harry Lucenay and started Wednesday, January 24. The class will use an instructor prepared study guide for this discussion group. The class conversation will confront these ancient directives at the points we are prone to trip over their boundaries. Hopefully, our focus will merge the spirit of the law with the spirit within us, leading us in the way of Jesus. Class meets at 4:30 PM weekly.
“Witness Breakthrough” led by Ted Sprague will begin on January 31 at 4:00 PM. “ This study will help us in our understanding of the “Great Commission” to go and make disciples of all nations. “Compelled by love, not by duty” will be the guiding principle of this class. This class will be five sessions. It is our prayer that the witnessing of our faith to the love of God through Jesus Christ will always be the heart of ministry at Big Canoe Chapel.
Please call the Chapel office (470-273-6768) to sign up for classes.
