“Moving Mountains: Praying with Passion, Confidence, and Authority” by John Eldredge meets in Room 102 of the Broyles Center. New York Times bestselling author John Eldredge states, “How would it feel to enter into prayer with confidence and assurance—certain that God heard you and that your prayers would make a difference?” This study recognizes that often our prayers seem to be met with silence or don’t appear to change anything. Either response can lead to disappointment or even despair in the face of our ongoing battles and unmet longings—especially when we don’t know if we’re doing something wrong or if some prayers just don’t work.
This is an 8-week study including a video introduction by Eldredge for each session. Participants may purchase study guides for $6.99. The study guide can also be purchased on Amazon.
“Jesus in the Gospels” meets at in the Broyles Center Board Room. Rev. Lamar Helms will teach Part 3 of this study that focuses on the Gospel of John’s portrait of Jesus, the teachings and events of Jesus as they emerge in this Gospel, calling us as followers to deeper loyalty and allegiance to Jesus.
We will gain from John a clearer understanding of what is at stake in the doctrinal claims as John presents them, leading us to a fuller understanding of what we believe—and how to take a stand for our Christian faith.
The class will run for 10 weeks. Please contact Lamar (404-310-5203) or [email protected]) about workbooks for the class.
