Since its inception in 1989, the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild has raised more than $1.8 million to support local charitable organizations in Pickens and Dawson counties. The Guild is proud to continue this Legacy of Caring each year by hosting several events throughout the year.

In 2018, the Women’s Guild raised over $130,000 to benefit charities that focus on enabling the well-being of women and children.

Springtime Marketplace Volunteers
Seeking your generous donations of gently used paperback and hardcover books, audio books, and DVDs. Donations of fiction and children’s books are always welcome, plus non-fiction history, biography, current travel, newer cookbooks, sports, classics, hobbies and crafts, inspirational and gift books.
Book Nook collection boxes have been placed in the Postal Facility and the Wellness Center and will remain there through mid-April.
Accepting your generous donations of gently used home items and ladies accessories at a new location: 123 Yellow Creek Road (first driveway on the left after you turn off Highway 53).
Drop-off dates: Our final drop-off date will be Saturday, March 30. Call Faye Webster, 678-467-0336, to arrange a different drop-off time.

Seeking volunteers for two hour shifts on Thursday, April 25, to accept, package and price baked goods for sale on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27. Volunteers are also needed to sell baked goods at the Springtime Marketplace.

This exciting event is to recognize not only the many area charities supported by this fund raising effort, but also everyone who joins us in the spirit of giving. This popular annual Gala is a major fundraising event for the Women’s Guild. It will include dinner, wine, entertainment, and both silent and live auctions. Honorary chairs for the event are Syl and Gordon Harnesberger. The Master of Ceremonies will be Mark Newton.
